Service
Fabrication & Modification
Custom fiberglass parts, modifications, and mold work.
What's included
What this service covers.
Older boats lose factory parts. Specialized uses call for modifications nothing off-the-shelf can cover. Small production runs need molds. Fabrication and modification work covers all of it — fiberglass parts and structures we design, build, finish, and install so they look and function like they belong on the boat.
- Discontinued parts that need to be reproduced
- Custom modifications for fishing, layout, or storage
- One-off parts for repairs or upgrades
- Mold building for repeat production
Materials we use
- Pattern and plug materials (MDF, closed-cell foam, surface fillers)
- Tooling gelcoat and tooling resin for mold surfaces
- Production-grade cloth, mat, and resin for the finished part
- Color-matched gelcoat or paint for finish integration
Our process
From damage assessment to finished repair.
Four steps. No surprises. You know what's happening at every stage, what it costs, and what to expect when you pick up the boat.
Step 01
Consultation
Send photos and a few details. We assess the damage honestly — including whether a quick fix is enough, or whether the right answer is a more involved structural repair.
Step 02
Prep
Strip back to sound material on a proper scarf. Identify and address the root cause, not just the visible damage. No cosmetic patches over structural problems.
Step 03
Repair
Rebuild with the correct cloth, mat, and resin schedule for the load path. Vinyl ester or epoxy where it matters; polyester only where it's the right call.
Step 04
Finish
Fair, prime, and refinish in color-matched gelcoat or marine paint. The repair should disappear into the surrounding surface under normal light.
Typical timeline: Fabrication and modification work is scoped project-by-project. Simple reproduction parts often run 2–4 weeks. Complex modifications or mold builds are quoted with a written timeline before the job starts.
